Ichthys is an ancient Greek word meaning “fish.” In English, the meaning is the symbol of two crossed arched lines which resemble a side view of a fish. Prior to Christianity, the fish symbol was said to represent the goddesses Aphrodite, Isis and Delphine. Early Christians were said to use the “Jesus Fish” as a secret symbol of Christ. In modern times the “Jesus Fish” has become a popular icon for Christianity, recalling Jesus feeding the masses with fish and bread. Handcrafted in the USA from hot rolled steel. 2.25"h x 3.5"w. Fits 1.5" and 1 5/8" belt.
